Artist's BiographyA native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Roseann Gilmore credits the 17 years she spent living in the heart of Europe for re-awakening her life-long passion for painting. A resident of Las Vegas since 1998, Roseann continued exploring
different art mediums before settling on oils. Through private lessons, workshops, and seminars with local
artists she cultivated her talent. Roseann
was recently exhibited at the Art Encounter Gallery located in Las Vegas,
Nevada. Artist's StatementI prefer to work with oils on
canvas and I describe my paintings as representational. I enjoy the way the paint adheres to the canvas with colors
that create a series of images evolving into a work of art.
My subject matter originates from memory, photos, dreams and imagination.
I develop my ideas through a series of sketches and then draw the chosen
composition on a prepared canvas. While creating my art, I immerse myself fully into the process and completely shut out my surroundings. I find it a demanding but rewarding process and get enormous satisfaction from the end result. My paintings are direct and straightforward with no hidden meanings attached. I would like them to be appreciated simply for the pleasure they may bring.
